Zoo Crew for a Birthday

Today I am sharing a card that I made for my brother's 70th birthday.  I'm not able to go back to Arizona for his special day, but I thought maybe this card would bring a smile to his face.  My brother has been in different bands ever since he was old enough to hold a guitar. For years, he would either start his own band, or joined in others. He is a self-taught musician, and now that he's older, he is doing solo acts at various places.  I am so proud of him! He's brilliant when it comes to music.  It amazes me that he has taught himself to record, produce and write his own songs. I hope he likes his card.

Zoo Crew is a darling bundle that includes the stamp set and dies to match.  When I made this card, all I had in my supply was the cute paper, so I had to cut all these critters out by hand.  I thought of making a stage in front, with the bongo playing beaver in back (where drummers usually are on stage).  Then the rest of "the band" up front.  I designed the stage curtain and cut it out using the back side of the paper.
As soon as I saw this turtle, I knew this had to be my brother Mike, singing as he always does. I just couldn't resist putting his initials and his age on his tummy.  The sentiment comes from another stamp set called Beautiful Balloons.

Sometimes things we see have to grow on you, and this bundle was one of them. It wasn't on my must have list at first, but the more projects I saw with it, the more I liked it.  The bundle is now on its way to my house. 😀

I hope you enjoyed your visit today.  If you don't already have a demonstrator and would like a catalog, please click the "request catalogs" link above. I'll get one out to you right away.  Also, be sure to check out my BOGO post (June 14th) where I am listing a lot of retired items for sale.

Have a great week!
