One of my favorite sets in the new catalog is called Waterfront. Everyone who has this set, cannot put it down, me included! There is so much versatility here and I've done many things with it. But if you go to Pinterest and type in Waterfront, be prepared for the delightful creations you'll find there.
Today I'm showing you two cards that I made with inspiration from Kim Jolley and I've provided a link to her blog here: http://stampinartfully.blogspot.com/ The first card is my take on the view from Olive Park in my hometown of Chicago. That short building to the left is supposed to be the Water Reclamation plant. Here's my card:
I used Stampin' Up! Watercolor paper and stamped 1 or 2 buildings, then used our Aqua pen with a little bit of water to spread the ink. This was a slower process because I wanted to be sure to get water on the buildings before the ink dried. I then used Smokey Slate ink, stamped off once, to make the reflections in the water. Pool Party for the water and sky, with the misty clouds in Smokey Slate. A little sponging of Rich Razzleberry to give the appearance that the sun has set and added a touch of that to the water. A white gel pen was used to make windows, and a little bit in between the buildings, to give the appearance of city lights behind. This was a fun card to make. Kim Jolley is a master at this, and I'm not nearly as good, but with practice, I might be one day.
I have more cards made with the same stamp set and will show those later this week. If you don't already have a demonstrator, I would love to send you a catalog. We have a new Occasions catalog that started January 2nd and it's also our best sale of the year. Sale-a-bration allows you to get products free with a qualifying purchase.
